In my part of the world we say you are a fool if your passion for a pursuit overcomes all practical sense. I am a stitching fool, and I stitch foolishness.

Still more to go

Because of my incredible inability to accurately determine how long any project will take, I still have the two rows of small diamonds on my needle case left to complete.

With my usual optimism, I thought I would be to the point of putting this thing together by now.

I was incorrect in my assumption.

And I wish I could let go of the habit of setting deadlines for myself. Even in retirement, I can't stop. I wonder how long it will take . . .

  1. i so agree with you! I am forever setting targets that are not met. Funnily I only do this with craft Robyn Sydney Australia

  2. Oh Ann, almost there! You're too hard on yourself, though. Enjoy the journey (she says to herself all the time!). BTW your stitching is beautiful.

  3. Deadlines I believe is a personality trait....not sure we can get rid of it whether working or retired! But know there is always tomorrow.

  4. No deadlines for me , don't get me wrong I love to get things finished , but don't put myself under stress any more , because there is always another day .
