In my part of the world we say you are a fool if your passion for a pursuit overcomes all practical sense. I am a stitching fool, and I stitch foolishness.

The Moving Experience, Part Nine

I did not mean to let so much time go by since the last post, but we're heading down the home stretch now, and things are intense on the sorting, purging, packing front.

I did take a break the first of last week to spend a day with my good buddy Sharon, and her new kitties. The kitties are still a little shy, but Sharon is, as always, delightful company. She is a sampler stitcher beyond compare, and it was so much fun to see what she is working on and has lined up to do. I've stitched one model for her, and she has another in the pipeline.

And she inspired me.

She usually does.

I hadn't threaded a needle in days, and we know what a cranky old bat I turn into when I don't stitch. At the end of the day, I've been plopping in the wing chair and playing games on my phone. This is a massive waste of time.

So I decided that Gardenesque is my moving project, as well as my current stitch-in piece. And this is where I am at the moment.

With my usual combination of thinking I can stitch more than I think in less time than I actually have to stitch, and my short attention span, I'm wondering if I should pull another project out of the already packed stash, just in case.

That way lies insanity.

The Moving Experience, Part Eight

There have been a few minutes when I could stitch. Actually, a few minutes when I had to stitch to save my sanity.

And I finished the embroidery for Bird 'n Berries--both the mini strawberry and the scissors fob. It may not look like much, but there was much rejoicing when I was able to actually stitch something.

Woo-Hoo! I thought when I put the last stitch in. I can now put this set together and have something else finished to arrive at the new place.

Except I have already packed all my finishing equipment and supplies.

Sigh . . .
