In my part of the world we say you are a fool if your passion for a pursuit overcomes all practical sense. I am a stitching fool, and I stitch foolishness.

Another Lovely Lady
I am sitting in a hotel room with this lovely lady from a class with Merry Cox a couple of years ago.
She now has a tree and some grass and part of a fence. The fence and I are not cooperating, so I think it's time for me to go to bed and forget about it.
Actually, I am thrilled to have this much done. I make this trip four times a year, and, if you've been reading this blog for awhile, you may remember that I frequently forget something necessary for stitching success when I make the quarterly trek. This time I have needles, instructions, threads, magnification, and scissors, as well as the linen itself. Eventually it all had to work out.
Speaking of reading blogs, there is something I have been wondering about. When you read a blog, how often do you like finding new posts? Do you like daily or almost daily updates? Or do you prefer weekly or every-other-week postings? Or do you enjoy infrequent but much longer postings? Inquiring minds want to know . . .

I'll be watching to see what your readers say about blog frequency. I like to read something every day, even if it is short. I don't read hundreds, but the ones I like, I like. Some I subscribe by email, some I have listed on my blog so I can see when they update. Thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are able to settle in to your hotel room to get some stitching done.
ReplyDeleteI just like anytime updates, with pics. If a post is really long I can get distracted.
I have 25 or so blogs on the blog list sidebar of my own blog, so I have something to read every day. Sometimes only three or four have updated in a given day, sometimes a few more. For myself, I tend to post every other day though lately I find the interval can be as much as three days between postings. It's all a function of what I have to say and how busy I am with other things. I suggest you go at whatever pace is comfortable for you.
ReplyDeleteI do not prefer long posts. I do not prefer daily posts either. So that is not what I do. BUT you need to do what is comfortable for YOU. =)
ReplyDeleteI like this current stitch you are working on.
Your lady and tree are lovely! It's so nice when you actually remember to bring along all the stuff you need!
ReplyDeleteI do not especially like to read a daily post especially if it's about what someone had for lunch or whatever. If they have something fun to share, stitching to show, or something else of interest, that's when I like to see a post. I can't imagine posting every day, or even every few days... I work full time and am way too busy for that. I do like longer posts but I love seeing pics, too!
Personally I post every day. This is just part of my routine and a gift to the folks who tell me Blog is part of their daily routine, too. However, when it comes to reading other blogs (I follow about 325) I like those that post weekly and have something to say about their stitching. I love learning new things but I know it's not possible to have that sort of posting all the time. I will miss you if you don't post as often, though. Your cheery words make me laugh often, just when I need it.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see someone is as far along as me on this Merry Cox piece..LOL I like at least 3-4 times per week blogs. I like your pictures as well. The posts should be interesting and about stitching or exciting things rather than the mundane stuff. I live the mundane and I like yours cuz you and I have the same projects and apparently touch them the same amount.
ReplyDeleteI just finished this lady last December. She is still sitting with her companions waiting for finishing :(
ReplyDeleteP>S> I post once per week.
ReplyDeleteThat way there is some stitching progress to share and maybe some other interesting tidbit (i.e. new stash, dd's stitching, etc)
I love to hear from you every other day or so. I am terrible at doing my own blog but like the updates and enjoy your sense of humor.
